110. Even the birds are chained to the sky

what is freedom? Is it internal or external? If it is internal then even slaves can be free. If it is external then how is it get affected by others? How freedom fits in society? What decides that we are free?

I am not here to give you answers, my motive is to make you think. Appears blurred here, watch on Flickr

109. to infinity

Saw a photograph like this on tumblr somewhere and  decided to do something like it. Not getting any new ideas these days. Reached to the brink on saturation. Flickr

Convocation renovation at IITB

Well, the convocation hall of my institute (IITB) is undergoing renovation. Yay! I will receive my graduation degree in the new revamped convocation hall. I went in and around to cover it. As usual, I have tried to show it through people working there.

They called me to take their photograph

Can’t resist taking this kind of photographs

The workers- they seemed to be fighting over some work issue but posing nicely for camera

Preparing to return home after finishing the day’s work

Sunlight was coming from the side, giving an awesome natural rim light

used the halogen light

108. Bull-o-car

A take on the rise in Petrol prices in India. This will be how the cars will drive in India if the prices will keep rising like this.

107. As time goes by

What do you see in this photograph? Are to able to identify the withered tree? I thought of so many things while seeing this. Sometimes the tree looked like a hand pointing the finger towards the bird. For that I thought of naming it ‘Hey you!’ A friend of mine named it ’12 o’clock’. But I din’t click this photograph for what it can be, even it was more of a luck, I waited for half an hour to capture a bird close to the tree. I captured a withered tree with a feeling I wanted to convey and I think it is best to name it on that only. What do you think?
Din’t upload last night as I was not able to get the right words for the title and I wanted it to be perfect. I have slowly realizing the importance of captions in an image. A caption is like a hint to the viewer of what you want to say. Earlier I hesitated to stress so much on captions as I believe in the language of photographs and if you use words, you can just say everything into words. But I realized now that people need it, otherwise it becomes any random shot. Everything has to be named.

106. Let it be

Feeling a bit less motivated lately. Patience is giving out. Things are going up and down :-|. Not able to see any way. Ohh! I should talk about the photograph too ;). Well, I am getting used to using textures in my images now. I like how the rose turned out in this. Quite flat and very much painterly.

” a rose is incomplete without the thorns”

105. Got your back

Don’t have much to say today. do see on Flickr as it looks much better on black background.

enjoy:)

104. A New Beginning

Made a conceptual photograph today based on the weekly theme by the 104 group. I think I will get to know new people and also the themes are interesting. Well, my interpretation was quite simple- to lock away the old troubling memories and start anew. Working on a lot of stuff these days and I love it. The final draft of the ‘Workshops for Kids’ will be ready by tonight. I started work on the character design too. Lets hope things keep going like this 🙂 Flickr link

103. Cotton Strings

I din’t get time to go out and shoot today, so uploading an old photograph I took when I shot drowning. I have got a loads of ideas for 365 + I am working on the proposal and planning for a series of workshops I am going to conduct (with my team) for school children + I got a freelance work of designing graphics for a game. What more can you ask! I just have to solve the problem of accomodation now and It will be all perfect. Flickr link

For this photograph, I like the tension between the lady and person sitting. But it is described so well by a friend of mine ( who is also my team member for the workshops) that I am not going to waste any more words.

” first you just see the guy,
then you notice the woman,
and then you see invisible strings on the abandoned path between them,
she has traveled that bit of the road, but he is still unsure
and there are strings
some have broken… laying down defeated on the ground
some are still hanging, bearing the tension
That’s how it happens, you know? A couple is like a system held by many strings
As they grow apart
some strings break
the remaining strings are in higher tension now
tension keeps increasing, strings keep giving away
then the last one snaps all of a sudden
and there is no tension
no strings attached
and it is where these two people come from
that makes their strings cotton
not nylon
not metal
off-white
hand woven
Cotton Strings! “

102. Awww!

That was my expression when I looked at these awesome colors of clouds- awww! It was turning out to be a bad day when this image happened. I have to sacrifice my jeans and shoes to get to this place to take this photograph but it was worth it.
