This is Vihar lake, Powai. The one major reason I like the campus so much is the greenery and the lakes on two sides :). I will miss the trekking to Sameer Hill. That place is so out of the world and you forget everything while there. It is actually an HDR but I have reduced the HDR type characteristics to minimum.

A long time since I covered any event at IIT. I think it has to be Swarsandhya 2012. Swarsandhya is Hindi musical evening being organised at IIT every year. It gives a nice platform for the students to show their talent and to learn from fellow musicians.
I experienced a complete different feeling while shooting that day. I started shooting normally trying various vantage points but after shooting some time I started feeling the lights. It all started making sense and I knew from where to click and how to click each subject. It was the first time I got so high on photography.

The Swarsandhya’12 team
Yesterday I went for a photo-walk on the promenade built on the powai lake. Powai Lake (named after Framaji Kavasji Powai Estate) is an artificial lake, situated in the northern suburb of Mumbai, on Salsette Island, in the Powai valley, where a Powai village with a cluster of huts existed. The city suburb called Powai, shares its name with the lake. Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay one of the premier institutions of science and technology in India is located to the east of the lake.
On the promenade is a garden named Powai Nisarg Udyan. It has a special fountain show but it was not working.
The lake has lot of crocodiles. An unfortunate incident happened last year in which a fisherman was killed by a crocodile.
