96. Colors of Nature

Din’t shoot today, so uploading a photo from a earlier photo-shoot. Its my first try on macro photography. Don’t have much to write today, so its short and colorful today. Enjoy! Flickr link

62. Thorns and Roses

I have been seeing this kind of collage making a lot around me so I decided to try a hand on it. It is combining two images to show two sides of a photograph. I know, this is not exactly what is called as photography in the sense of capturing both sides in one frame only. It actually goes in- ‘how you arrange your photographs‘. I like the challenge of combining everything to one frame but I think I will try this kind of combinations also. Go to flickr for a better quality 🙂

Another wedding photograph, it was very difficult to take a clear shot due to the crowd but then I thought of using the crowd to my benefit. So I framed the bride using the people standing there. I also like the  pink feathers of the turban of the bridegroom visible in the corner.

Due to low lights I was not able to take a good photograph of the face, so i decided to focus on other attributes.

28. Sunset

Couldn’t upload/make any photograph from last few days as I felt sick. Here is a collection of HDRs I made of the lake at sunset. See my previous posts on HDRs for more information   HDR1  HDR2 HDR3

PS: Please provide your feedback to help me improve the blog

While roaming around at Baga Beach, Goa I observed these lights. There were some limitations with respect to aperture and ISO and due to that there is some grain in the photograph.

13. On Top of the World

This post is about the other side of photography: Post-processing

I used Lightroom for the editing.

Original Image                                                                                                                                  Final Image

The main points I observed which can make this image better were:

1. The background is slightly over-exposed.

2. The reds in the T-shirt of boy and the umbrella can be improved ( more saturated and luminant ).

3. The blue color of the T-shirt of girl can be more luminant.

4. The background color is washed out.

This is the histogram of original image. The over-exposed background is evident here.

1. White balance: Changed the white balance to slightly blue as it was giving a good contrast to the reds.

2. I decreased the exposure and used the recovery bar to recover details in the highlights. I increased the Blacks slightly to increase the contrast.

3. I changed the highlights and shadows tone to green to reduce the numbers of colors in the photograph. It also gave more impact to the couple.

4. Gave the photograph a slight vignetting to give more emphasis to couple.
