100. Show me a hero and i’ll write you a tragedy

‘Show me a hero and i’ll write you a tragedy’ the famous quote by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Most artists are born out of pain and suffering. In Bollywood movies too, it all starts with something bad which inspires the hero to become the Hero. I took the same idea to make this photograph of mine. It is the best gift I can give to myself on my 100th photograph of the 365 project. It was really a testing day. 2 hours of roaming around searching for the location for the shoot and the shoot itself. Then, 4 hrs of discussion and contemplation on the structure and material of some photography workshops I am going to conduct for school children. And 4 hrs of editing after that which also turned out to be dramatic as my photoshop crashed in between. Even after I decided not to compromise on this photograph, neither on the photo, nor on the description. My Flickr account will also be full with this photo, please someone gift me a PRO membership :P. I think I will sleep like a log tonight. GN. Flickr link for a better resolution

44. Balance

My cousin brother was very enthusiastic and with rural background, this photograph presents a very delicate balance of rural life.

42. The Yellow Flowers

Due to lack of time, I am just uploading the final selected photograph from last few posts. I realized that I should stick to my original idea of presenting the stories behind the making of photographs.

It is a photoshoot of the mustard while my recent visit to my village. I started with a close-up shot of one flower, it wasn’t that impacting.

Next, I tried to include the yellow flowers as background and then take close-up of one flower but then it lost all of its contrast.

It was very unusual but the best photograph I took is a shallow depth image with showing a lot of flowers close-by.

Framing

I have been noticing “frame inside a frame” a lot these days. Here are some photographs taken within past 1 month. For those who don’t know, frame inside a frame is a useful composition tool used to emphasize your subject  using the surrounding elements.

39. Light and Life

Taken at my village, I like this photograph for the natural black gradients that frames the mother and the daughter. As I took some time in shooting, they noticed me and started looking in the camera. Photography is a interesting activity as you never know when people will become angry on taking their photograph and when they will start giving you poses.

35. Bride

Due to low lights I was not able to take a good photograph of the face, so i decided to focus on other attributes.

34. Weird Indian Traditions

I witnessed some of the weird traditions while at the marriage ceremony of my sister.

1. The bride has to stop the Aunt from drinking the water whose one hand would be on her face.

2. With stoll on her head, the bride is circled around the village while singing traditional songs.

3. A female from bride side stamps an elder from bridegroom side with her handprint.
