131. Sound of the falling Rain

“For me, a page of good prose is where one hears the rain and the noise of battle. It has the power to give grief or universality that lends it a youthful beauty”
~John Cheever

I love the sound of rain. I am making more and more photographs on rain and seeing that monsoon season has just started I am going to make a lots of them. I tried a lot of different angles but finally I decided on the first one I took.

Here is different angle I like

115. the Saffron

the saffron clothes of these monks were giving an amazing contrast in the dim evening light. The scene in itself interesting  as what these all monks are doing outside this shop which deals with scrap Looks much better on black background here Flickr

114. Green Light

I so much wanted to get up there and take a self-portrait. It was not so easy as I don’t have a remote trigger and I couldn’t make it there in the first few tries. This is the newly constructed railway track on which no train runs as of now. Flickr link

109. to infinity

Saw a photograph like this on tumblr somewhere and  decided to do something like it. Not getting any new ideas these days. Reached to the brink on saturation. Flickr

100. Show me a hero and i’ll write you a tragedy

‘Show me a hero and i’ll write you a tragedy’ the famous quote by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Most artists are born out of pain and suffering. In Bollywood movies too, it all starts with something bad which inspires the hero to become the Hero. I took the same idea to make this photograph of mine. It is the best gift I can give to myself on my 100th photograph of the 365 project. It was really a testing day. 2 hours of roaming around searching for the location for the shoot and the shoot itself. Then, 4 hrs of discussion and contemplation on the structure and material of some photography workshops I am going to conduct for school children. And 4 hrs of editing after that which also turned out to be dramatic as my photoshop crashed in between. Even after I decided not to compromise on this photograph, neither on the photo, nor on the description. My Flickr account will also be full with this photo, please someone gift me a PRO membership :P. I think I will sleep like a log tonight. GN. Flickr link for a better resolution

97. Drowning

Yo! I went inside Powai lake today. I was just wandering around that area to find a good place to shoot and I saw people coming from the side of lake. So I decided to go and take a look. It was such an awesome view. An awesome cool breeze and silence. I decided to make a photograph there. Initially I thought of taking a photograph showing only legs, like somebody is upside down in the lake but it proved too much difficult to do. Even the simple portrait was difficult to take as I don’t have a remote trigger. But Finally I changed the idea and it turned out to be good. I have used expansion to expand this photograph. 95. You shan’t pass

Haha! What a day it was. I went to this place with all sets of random props, I found a table somewhere so I carried it here thinking of creating a good levitating image with leaves in the air and cloth fllying. But the table broke while jumping 😀

And then I decided to create this image by compositing various shots of fabric to create a larger one.

It is first in many ways, for it is my first expansion photograph and first with compositing farbic. I know it is full of composition mistakes. The sky is completely blown and I am standing opposite to the light source but I like the final image for how the cloth turned out.

93. Topsy Turvydom

Wow! This will be one of the milestones for my 365 project. This photo is just what I have imagined it. The color tones, the contrast, the composition, everything is perfect. I know that I am praising my own photo, but that is what I really feel like. Please see on Flickr, its much more crispier there

I am graduated from college with no job, don’t know how I am going to survive in a big city like Mumbai, don’t know how I am going to approach photography. Questions, questions and more questions. I am so tired that I even can’t think anymore. For the first time I am able to express what I am feeling through a photograph. This is the photograph of the background I have used for making this photograph.
