133. Roadside God

“I would believe only in a God that knows how to Dance”

Faith is a tricky thing. Most of the people use it in hard times to remove the fear that arise from uncertainty. I am having a tough time in my life right now trying to find some ways. But I can never say- ‘have faith in god’. I can only depend on myself. Anyways, its a game. All you can do is to fight at your full potential. Cheers!

125. Between Me and Nature

With growing Urbanization we are going away and away from nature. The sweet songs of birds are replaced by Traffic noise. I am fortunate enough to live in a green, peaceful campus. It is a perfect combination of facilities a city can give and a natural environment.

124. Vihar Lake

This is Vihar lake, Powai. The one major reason I like the campus so much is the greenery and the lakes on two sides :). I will miss the trekking to Sameer Hill. That place is so out of the world and you forget everything while there. It is actually an HDR but I have reduced the HDR type characteristics to minimum.

107. As time goes by

What do you see in this photograph? Are to able to identify the withered tree? I thought of so many things while seeing this. Sometimes the tree looked like a hand pointing the finger towards the bird. For that I thought of naming it ‘Hey you!’ A friend of mine named it ’12 o’clock’. But I din’t click this photograph for what it can be, even it was more of a luck, I waited for half an hour to capture a bird close to the tree. I captured a withered tree with a feeling I wanted to convey and I think it is best to name it on that only. What do you think?
Din’t upload last night as I was not able to get the right words for the title and I wanted it to be perfect. I have slowly realizing the importance of captions in an image. A caption is like a hint to the viewer of what you want to say. Earlier I hesitated to stress so much on captions as I believe in the language of photographs and if you use words, you can just say everything into words. But I realized now that people need it, otherwise it becomes any random shot. Everything has to be named.

49. Haji Ali Dargah

I went to Haji Ali Dargah yesterday. It is a mosque and dargah (tomb) located on an islet off the coast of Worli in the Southern part of Mumbai. There is a long way built on the sea just to visit the Dargah which is in the middle of the water. So, I decided to take a landscape view showing the path and the sea.

This is the trial shot, there were a lot of birds which gave me one more thing to play with.

So I played with the birds for some time.

I walked around the footpath to find out some more interesting view. And I noticed these railings on the side of the footpath which can be used to frame the Dargah.

So now there were three elements: Dargah, railings and birds

I played with the three elements for some time.

The final shot: the bird is right and the framing fits

27. Yin-Yang

“The creative act lasts but a brief moment, a lightning instant of give-and-take, just long enough for you to level the camera and to trap the fleeting prey in your little box.”
~Henri Cartier-Bresson

I have been experimenting with the alignments and placement of various subjects in a photograph. Things change constantly giving birth to different meanings and at one instant they form a design very obvious to human eye. To me it is the ‘Decisive Moment’
